The Scientific Committee has announced two new CCAMLR Scholars under the CCAMLR Scientific Scholarship Scheme.
- Dr Xiuxia Mu, (China) for her work on spatial population characteristics of krill, whose work will be mentored by Drs Zhao (China) and Kawaguchi (Australia).
- Ms Kinga Hoszek (Poland) for her work on potential effects of pollutants on trophic dynamics of krill and penguins. Whose work will be mentored by Mr Szymanski (Poland) and Dr Hinke (USA).
The scholarships will support attendance at scientific working group meetings for the next two years to further develop scientific expertise and succession for early career researchers in the work of the Scientific Committee.
The Scientific Committee recognised the many significant contributions of CCAMLR Scholarship recipients to the work of the Scientific Committee and its working groups and noted several scholars were now holding leadership roles within the Scientific Committee. All the previous scholarship recipients present as well as those in the meeting that have served as mentors were celebrated with a photo in front of the CCAMLR headquarters.
