The Scientific Committee is encouraging fishing vessels to collect acoustic data as frequently as possible along nearby CCAMLR transects while conducting fishing operations. For this purpose, WG-ASAM created an instruction manual for the collection of acoustic data by fishing vessels (WG-ASAM-2023 Appendix D).

Data submission:

The Scientific Committee has requested that the Secretariat establish a central repository for acoustic data collected by fishing vessels along nominated transects (SC-CAMLR-40 (paragraph 2.10).

Please contact data [at] ccamlr [dot] org to contribute acoustic data collected by fishing vessels along CCAMLR transects to the central repository maintained by the Secretariat.
