The Australian Antarctic Festival was hosted in Hobart, Tasmania, from 24 to 28 August 2022. This is the only event of its kind in Australia and is held biennially to celebrate the city’s position as a major Antarctic gateway city.

The CCAMLR Secretariat was pleased to be involved at the Antarctic Expo at Princes Wharf where our staff were able to connect with locals and tourists to educate them on the objectives of the Convention. Children (and brave adults!) were able to construct origami krill to take home with them, along with a selection of educational material to learn more about the species we manage.
