Antarctic organisations are calling on early-career researchers and scientists to apply for this year’s Antarctic Fellowship and Scholarships
The awards are granted annually by the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO), the Council of Managers of National Antarctic Programs (COMNAP), and the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR). The awards are an investment in the professional development of talented early career scientists and researchers and aim to strengthen international capacity and cooperation in the spirit of the Antarctic Treaty.
CCAMLR’s Scientific Scholarship Scheme can provide funding of up to A$30,000 to assist early-career scientists to participate in the work of the CCAMLR Scientific Committee and its working groups over a period of two years. IAATO and COMNAP each offer a fellowship of up to USD $15,000 for 2024. SCAR will be offering 4-5 fellowships of up to USD $15,000 each for 2024.
